SYMPOSIUM PRESS is a small publisher committed to issues such as global justice, theoretical analysis of present-day socio-cultural issues and conflicts,  rights and needs of Third World populations (the 'South', as against the 'North').  We are planning, as well, to publish analytical studies on literature, film, drama,  especially when viewed in their socio-cultural context. SYMPOSIUM PRESS is also publishing poetry, poetry translations, art books and catalogues, books covering grass roots activities in North America, Europe, and the Third World.  In addition, we back an internet journal, INTERCULTURAL STUDIES, the first issue of which appeared in May 2003, and we distribute another journal, URBAN DEMOCRACY (which you can contact by sending an e-mail to: urbandemocracy@netscape.net).
