Devotion

Rows of 
imaginary candles

are spread 
all along her navel

in reverence
 to the goddess of love.

Its sensuous beam
 embraces her, 

both  inside 
and out.

Stunted 
and sunken eyed,

He removes
 his shirt and observes

the goddess,
 hands in waist

to the sounds 
of temple bells

and chanting prayers 
resounding across

 the backstreets
of Kathmandu.
