Protest Tourism

They stood for a day.
They stood for a week.
They stood for a month.
They stood for a year.
They stood for a decade.
They stood for a century.
They stood for a millennium.
They are still standing.

Meanwhile, the ground on which they stood changed to an express highway, a football stadium, a performing arts centre, a hospital, an army camp, a water theme park and a graveyard.

Now, it is a dead volcano crater
with a placid blue lake
that attracts one million tourists a year.

*The tribals of Kerala have been STANDING in front
of the Kerala Secretariat for more than three months
before the Government buckled and accepted their demands.
But the ground reality remains the same even now.

Protest-Tourismus
